Unisex wear made of wool fabrics, from fine and light to warm and thick. Often oversized and reversable; fold or unfold the sleeves and turn the jacket inside out for a new look. Layer on layer, oversized, reversable, monocoloured or classic patterns – wear for every body and everybody.

our story

experiment

MOE started as an experiment to create a truly zero waste wear – sustainable for real. Was is possible to create garments without any waste during cutting? And what is a sustainable material?

Despite many sustainability initiatives and activities, the final aesthetic appearance is still the goal in the conventional fashion design process: Quality of fabric and pattern cutting are subordinate to the wanted drape, fitting and overall visual form of the garment.

bottom-up conceptual design

In contrast, MOE starts with a leftover fabric of bio-degradable and recyclable mono-material. Based on the quality and width, a garment is engineered using three concept rules: zero waste cutting pattern, durable construction, and useful versatile design. After experimental prototyping, exploring technical and cultural boundaries, a cutting pattern scheme of triangular and square building blocks have been developed and verified.

The durable construction is not only about avoiding weak sewing spots, but to facilitate repair. The versatility design involves unisex and unibody, reversibility and modularity.

sustainable circular innovative

Today’s fast fashion industry feeds consumers with low-quality, mixed fiber clothes, often unsuitable to use in remake or to recycle. In contrast, MOE uses high quality leftover fabric of bio-degradable and recyclable mono-material. The garments are engineered using three concept rules: zero waste cutting pattern, durable construction, and useful versatile design.

next step

Until now, MOE has used 100 % wool as mono material because of its outstanding properties – it’s both cool and warm, odor resistant, breathable, durable and easy to clean.

MOE’s next step is to contribute to a Swedish wool fabric industry using the thousands of tons of Swedish wool that are wasted yearly.
